They typically grow heirloom varieties without chemicals of any kind; as a result their vegetables taste great ! They also enjoy marketing novel items, such as a gourmet salad mix with edible flowers. They also run a CSA program, which provides weekly vegetables to Winnipeg families. Now, they have been selling at the market for 2 years and they are proud that their operation is all natural. They operate without the use any chemicals or fertilizers. Their farming operation is chemical free! They also sell their jams and produce at the farmers’ markets in Morden, Winkler and Steinbach. That’s the life of a farmer! Mayfair Farm also grows produce for Peak of the Market! Products: Potatoes, radishes, cauliflower, strawberries, and raspberries are currently sold. Cucumbers, cabbage, jalapenos, peppers, and leaf lettuce will be available later in the season. |

MiinanLena Friesen, Headingley. At the market since 1992Lena has picked berries her whole life. The fresh berries and berries used in other products are all hand picked in the wild. Her products are Agriculture Canada Approved and can sell anywhere in the world. The Wild Triple Berry Jam is a children’s favorite and for the adults, the favourite is the Wild Blueberry Jam. Her products are sold at many stores across the Winnipeg such as Neechi Foods, Scoop n’ Save, Scoop n’ Weigh and Fenton’s at the Forks. Some of her jams would be suitable for people with Diabetes as they are made with Splenda. Products: In season fresh wild fruits (blueberries, choke cherries, plums, saskatoons, cranberries, jams, spreads, syrups, tea, fruit bars, beverages and salad dressings. Sugar-free options are also available. |

At the market since 1988Morris and Jeanette Moroz were among the original 8 vendors that started the St. Norbert Farmers' Market back on July 16, 1988! They are part of family farm that has been around for well over 60 and three generations. They have many loyal customers - many of which know them by name and have also been coming to the market since its humble beginnings! Products: Bunch onions, green onion, beets, pickling/slicing cucumbers, potatoes, tomatoes, wild tomatoes, green pepper, eggplant, beans, spinach, sweet corn, zucchini, celery, cabbage, squash, pumpkins, cantaloupe, watermelon, and honeydew melon. Fresh herbs such as dill, basil and mixed herbs. |

Paseschinikoff’sKon and Serge Paseschinikoff, Oakbluff. At the market since 1992Kon and his brother Serge have been farming for about 35 years! They began selling their vegetables at the Old Market Square at the Forks and then moved on to the St. Norbert Farmers’ Market. They are at the market every Saturday and Wednesday afternoon. They also sell out of a roadside stand in Oakbluff. The Paseschinikoff’s have many loyal customers that boast of their great selection and friendly and courteous staff that keep them coming back week after week! Kon and Serge also keep their customers interested by selling unique items such as purple or yellow cauliflower and carrots that are quite a hit! Products: In season vegetables, watermelon, cantaloupe, homemade jams and salsa, and some honey. |

In the early summer they start with a fine collection of trees, shrubs, heirloom tomato plants and gradually shift to their many vegetables as they come into season. Products: Vegetables: Various types of beans, onions, zucchini, carrots, herbs, heirloom and conventional tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, corn, cabbage, ornamental corn, squash, pumpkins, and gourds. Strawberry LaneGordon and Helen Eidse, Morris. At the market since 1989Gordon and Helen were among the original 8 vendors at the first market in 1988. Gordon was on the first board of directors for the market. They would have been celebrating 20 years at the market this year, however, they were unable to come to the market one year when there crop was destroyed by flooding. Wiens Shared Farm - Local NaturalDan and Wilma Wiens, 11kms south of the Perimeter on St. Mary’s Rd.. At the market since 2003Besides selling at the farmers market we operate a small CSA (Community Shared Agriculture). Shares are sold for $400 and in return “sharers” receive a weekly box of produce from mid June to September. Providing practical agricultural experience and education to many people remains an ongoing priority on the farm. We do not use synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers in our gardens.
